What have you been wondering about?

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in our therapy sessions?

Our first appointment will be a getting to know you session where I’ll ask questions about why you are coming in for counseling and information about your background. We’ll also identify a schedule for our ongoing appointments and goals that you would like to work towards.

After that session it will be a combination of discussing challenges that you are experiencing and identifying parts of yourself that are trying to address those challenges. I will help you disentangle from these parts so that you can access a deeper sense of Self to help heal patterns that are not working for you.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 55 min. We would meet either once weekly or every other week.

How long will I be in therapy?

Therapy usually lasts as long as you are still working toward your goals or as long as the therapy relationship is serving you. On average my clients are in therapy around 6-9 months, however some clients have had shorter stays in therapy and others I have worked with for multiple years as their goals change.

What are your fees?

I charge $200 for a 55 minute session.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

All sessions are offered online via a secure telehealth platform. There are many benefits to online therapy including: having the flexibility to schedule appointments between meetings or during lunch hours, decreased travel time to an office visit, privacy of having your session where you are the most comfortable.

Are you in network with any insurance plans?

I am not in-network with any insurance companies. However, many insurance plans do offer out-of-network benefits which means you would pay for the fee in full at the time of your session and I can provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement. For more information on this option please ask in your initial consultation and I can guide you through the questions to ask your insurance company.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

IFS is an evidenced-based form of psychotherapy. This type of therapy describes each of us as having multiple sub-personalities or parts that hold qualities that direct our emotions and actions. IFS also states that we all have a core Self that can direct and heal ourselves from wounds and pain. IFS therapy helps people to identify and connect to these parts and creates deep internal healing. For more information please visit my IFS services page.
